Joining the nationwide ‘Clean India’ campaign also known as the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, PMR launched a cleanliness drive at the head-office in Gurgaon, India on 1st October, 2014. A day earlier than the official launch of the campaign by Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. This drive was set off to promote the practice of cleanliness within the organisation and country. Initiating the drive was done under PMR’s corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Ms. Aakanksha Bhargava, CEO of the company along with her team extended their hands to partake in Prime Minister’s vision to “Create a Clean India.” Bhargava said, “It’s an ambitious initiative which the country has long ignored, now is the time to act.” PMR employees starting from the top management to the lower level employee picked up brooms and dustbins to clean the pavement and road surrounding the office space in Gurgaon.

To fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a clean and healthy India, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi pledged to create a ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ which would lead to a Clean India by the year 2019 marking the 150th birth- anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, also known as the ‘Father of the Nation’. Mr. Modi flagged off the biggest ever mass movement integrating billions of Indians to create a clean India under the ‘Clean India’ Mission. The man himself joined the campaign and urged individuals to be part of the movement. All corporate companies in India joined the campaign and extended their support to the movement. Many industrial houses and corporates contributed by addressing the sanitation problem by pledging to make toilets in rural India. Many eminent personalities and corporates stepped out wielding brooms to clean the roads and surrounding areas.

“Cleaning the country cannot be the sole responsibility of sanitation workers. Every individual has a role to play! Therefore, we have to change the mindset of people and initiate the process for a cleaner India,” Bhargava further added.
